Today at InSTEM we are starting to build  our solar powered cars. We are using many materials used in real jobs. We learned about the sun and what the sun can do to your skin. We made bracelets of white beads that changed color and we had to make a hypothesis about how the beads would change colors. We then found that the beads changed color in the sun.

Today we made lip balm out of Vaseline and Koo-laid powder by melting the Vaseline and mixing the powder into it. We then put it into a container and waited for it to harden into a gel again. We also learned how to program our Lego robots to move forward, backward, and spin in a circle. We use a computer program to tell the robots what to do and then we downloaded it to the robot. We then selected the file and the robot did what it was programmed to do. It was really fun!
